Southern Health-Santé Sud looks forward to working with communities and partners by joining efforts in health promotion and prevention initiatives to support your health as well as the health of your family, friends and community. Our goal is to increase healthy living awareness, advocate for better health outcomes and provide resources and support in collaboration with community partners.

HAP is a group of volunteers who came together to decorate downtown Portage la Prairie for the holidays. Collaborating with the city, we strive to bring a safe, festive feel to the avenue. Inspired by the overwhelmingly positive response to our decorating efforts thus far, we plan to continue adding seasonal decor, including lighting along the avenue for our community to enjoy.

Sunset Palliative Care supports patients and families facing terminal illness through trained volunteer companionship, including reading and respite care for caregivers. They offer professional care coordination for personalized plans, bereavement follow-up, referrals to grief support groups, and resources to help families navigate care options with dignity and choice.

Private Homecare services

Providing support to those with dementia as well as their care partners. We offer support groups, education/presentations, supportive counselling and Minds in Motion groups.

We offer services focused on employment and in some cases, training for clients. We have several different programs, such as employment assistance, Employability for People with Disabilities, wage subsidy, Internationally Educated Nurses, and Manitoba Careers for Internationally Educated Professionals which helps newcomers with the cost of getting licensed in their profession in Manitoba.

CPCS Program and Services promotion.

The main goal of the Citizens on Patrol Program is to be on the look-out for any suspicious or criminal activity, to document this activity and, where appropriate, to report such activities to the police. COPP members act as additional “eyes and ears” for their community and the police, which assists in reducing crime.

We are a group of Registered Canadian Reflexology Therapists, Certified Reflexologists and Reflexology students.

We will be offering 20-minute reflexology taster sessions on either foot, face, or hands as well as informational pamphlets about reflexology and information packages on reflexology courses offered in this area by a Licensed Canadian Reflexology Teacher.

We offer support for those experiencing unplanned pregnancy-free pregnancy test; options support; parenting, prenatal, relationship education as well as perinatal loss grief support.

PCRC provides community development support of all kinds including: housing first, wrap around support, free community events, small grants, capacity building, community clean ups, beautification initiatives and more!

The Portage & Area FASD Coalition brings together community members, caregivers, individuals with lived experience, and service providers to increase awareness and understanding of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Through education, resources, community events, and collaboration, we support individuals and families affected by FASD while promoting inclusion, acceptance, and informed community responses.
